Join the Connecting Chords Music Festival Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM Eastern in May for a livestream concert series featuring West Michigan-based musicians, broadcasting from La Luna Recording Studio in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Their livestream on May 20 features a special performance from Kip Hickman (trombone) and Yu-Lien The (piano).

Kip Hickman was appointed Principal Trombone of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra in 2001 and Principal Trombone of the West Michigan Symphony (Muskegon, MI) in 2013. He has also performed with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Michigan Opera Theatre Orchestra, Grand Rapids Symphony, and Toledo Symphony as well as the Detroit Chamber Winds, Western Brass Quintet, and Great Lakes Brass. He is currently a member of the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet and Kalamazoo Brass.
Yu-Lien The has performed throughout the US, Europe, and Southeast Asia, including appearances as a soloist with the Nordwestdeutsche Philharmonie, the Kammerorchester Hannover and the Baroque Orchestra L’Arco. She is Assistant Professor of Keyboard Studies at Western Michigan University and has previously served on the faculties at Bowling Green State University, Valparaiso University, and Kalamazoo College.
