The first half of the performance focused on the musical heritage of Israel – a country formed by immigrants from Eastern and Western countries, presenting a unique environment for musical creation.
The second half of the concert featured choral works from Tanzania, representing the many different ethnic groups and their musical traditions. The works were sung in Swahili, with additional commentary on traditions and musical shared by Rev. Seth Ole Sululu and Dr. Eric Johnson, director of the NIU Chamber Choir.
